My adventure began in Ramkund, which is close to the Kutch Museum. Ramkund is a well-preserved step-well or ‘baori' located off the beaten path in Bhuj, Gujarat.
I stayed away from well-known attractions such as the AinaMahal and the Kutch Museum. Another Baori that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site is Rani Ki Vav near Patan.
It demonstrates the lovely symmetry and consideration that went into the water conservation.
The ruins at Chhatedi, a historical site, are another attraction. I went at sunset, which I highly recommend.
The architecture is a combination of Rajputana and Mughal influences. If you adore step wells, you can also pay a visit to Dada Harir Ni Vav in Ahmedabad!
